Till tomorrow

For the anxious folks – there’s no news until tomorrow. No data, no results, nada. TV programming is back to normal – movies, soccer etc.

Unfortunately, innuendo and rumors will fill in the gap between then.

Guys, please keep your comments clean until then and avoid baiting. I understand that all of you are supporting one side or another, but I don’t want my blog to degenerate into a place filled with rabid and hateful commentary on side or another – this is not a debating zone!

Please show your appreciation for the hard work I’m doing by respecting my space, and not giving me moderator duties.

If I have to spend time deleting comments again tomorrow morning like I did today, you will be getting your updates from places where you can engage in pointless rhetoric.

I hear you girl! Tell ’em like it is! . . . from a mom of 3 in the ATL I just wanted to say great job! you have provided the best info on elections! The only reliable and updated site I have come across(and I have been to many) – so what was going on in Naivasha? – coming for summer with the family in ’08 and I would like to visit Naivasha and where else should I go(it’s been many years and i’m excited) – anyway keep your head up and thanks for keeping it real!

    Ory,

You have done an excellent job in keeping us updated. Very professional I must add.

I am wondering why ECK provided for this break …is this “cook the books” time? Is it unusual for Election officials to take a break before counting is completed?

Ory stop attaining those tyrant attitudes thats the same problems plaguing our elected officials. This seems to be a human condition, when people gain little power they take it over the roof. I aint mad its your blog. peace out.

  • Ory…..you rock. Sorry u had to stay up so long just to keep us informed. Be assured Kenyans in California are forever grateful !

  • sunshine

Ory rest and tomorow give us some more update. And miles away some of us will hold our breath and pray for the best outcome. Hopefully, Kenyans should think twice before sacrificing peace that we all need for anything good to happen.

Hollering from edmonton, all western eyes are on us right now, hope everything goes smoothely with no chaos, i will be up to hear what happens this am, very interesting some of the disticts or constituenies that have not tallied their votes, if kisii upto kitu ndani to madera ndani to lamu ndani have brought in their votes, how come some in Nairobi are not in, well I love my country and all I want is my citizenship back, so that I can proudly say I m Kenyan/australian/Canadian not just the latter two ory girlfriend keep the good work up and let us tramp the stupidity of tribalism, we are all Kenyans and whatever happens in kenya affects all of us. bravo and may the Lord shine the light on “Afric’s Jewel” as we are currently known

Nah, don’t go to Naivasha. Too many people. Choose a peaceful, serene resort instead:

    Lake Elmenteita.
Flamingo Camp. Much recommended., quite romantic, preferable to the expensive lodges.

check out this, websitehttp://communication.go.ke/elections/default.asp, anticipating some serious drama.

Great stuff Ory, Thanks for keeping us in the loop! I agree with your assessment that ECK should have a mechanism to cross check on-site MP, Civic AND Presidential results on-site before giving out the final results. The picture out here of course is very skewed with some saying many have died, and others saying just one. As usual CNN, Fox news is mostly quiet. Benazir’s Buttho’s assasination is the leading story.

Have fun in Naivasha and good luck with mambo yote.

    Kwaheri.

    Ory,

I just wanted to commend you for a great selfless job you’re doing…, please disregard the bunch of idiots who cannot express themselves without spitting out unnecessary trash. Please keep us posted.

    Hey Ory,

Been hanging out here for updates – you gal are doing a bril job and I know you tell it as it is. I keep saying that everyone and their squirrel have an opinion on this, and I am glad to get an objective opinion on this.

Hope you are enjoying the holidays and good luck to you and your family.

Ory. I’ve been criss-crossing the U.S over the last three days (D-Troit, Denver and back home to Seattle) and I have to agree with most of the previous comments; your blog has been the most impartial and insightful source of elections news I’ve been able to come across. I know I speak for most peace-loving Kenyans when I say that our hope is that cool heads prevail once this is all sorted out. Thanks for keeping us in the loop.
