Once again, Ory thanks for your great good job. The most informative out here since Thursday. I am surprised that little attention has been made by the international media. And most truly you have been most updated by the blog than any other source. You have great professionalism . Thank s from Minnesota (we miss being home) and Happy New Year to you all with whatever outcome.

U R the best. Wajinga wengine all they do is spread rumors. Is Kibaki winning?

  • thehandel

what is the problem with the local papers their coverage of the election and updates is truly primitive one would have thought they would be more prepared and up to date by now !!!

  • Mla Mandazi Muoto

@ The Handle. Exactly, very disappointed with how they are doing thngs….we now have to rely on blogs even some poor ones like ABUNUWASI and others…like MASHANDA

  • Tom

Once again, thanks for taking your time to keep us updated. If only the Nation & STD could do that… I stopped opening their pages, they finish my BandW for nothing

ECK need address the issue of parties basing outcome the so called exit polls. Otherwise whats the point of the commission? There should be legislation passed banning premature announcements based on guessed numbers. Its about time that voting in Kenya be electronic for quick delivery. This will avoid looting of votes, and enhance accuracy.
On the other hand, media reportings have been careless and all over the place. This rendered the situation worse by increasing public anxiety.

kudos to you. I have never been a blogger but now am converted . one day the std and nation will realize how far behind they are and by then like everything else ……tooo late.

  • Nick

Thumbs up for taking your time to update us all.
Any updates on that morning ECK briefing?
By the way…do you have Juja figures. I am hearing the turn out was like 160%. Good Lord!

  • Andrea

Hi, thank you for your updates. Can anyone tell me who won in North Imenti?

  • vamos

Ory, thanks for the incredible update.Btw, N/Imenti was won by a Mr. Cyrus Muriuki

  • Tom

    @Ashley,
We shouldn’t blame the media as much. What they have been broadcasting are results as announced by various ROs on the ground and considering that almost all media houses including KNA and KBC had reporters at various constituencies, there should not be any reason why the results should change PLUS or MINUS in Nairobi… this is the main reason for the confusion… when Kivuti talked of possibilities of results being ‘cooked’ by some officers, it never helped… in auditing the returns, the total of cast votes should be tallied to check if they balance with the returns including spoilt ballots… Kenyans we should not forget that KENYA BELONG to all of us and we should not allow ourselves to fight one another for reasons we don’t understand…

    North Imenti–Shadrack M’Kingani

  • roopal

Ory – thanks so much for your regular updates and hard work! much appreciated!

  • bua

Anything out there yet? Is it happenning soon? It’s 2:00 am out here but still anxious to know before retiring to bed.

  • Andrea

Karambu Rinerga did not win North Imenti?

  • Nick

    Same here Bura,
I am trying to listen to the Kass updates in Kale…quite challenging since I am not a kale. But at least I had Raila saying to some journalists that he caanot accept a Kibaki win because the results are cooked and ECK is involved.

  • Rottuk

thanks for the updates. Am waiting anxiously for the end of this politics. By the way is the violence and rioting still going on? Accordign to Aljezeera TV it is reported that the violence are stil on in some parts of western kenya. Is this true or they are just reporting saturdays’ violence? Is the violence and riots under control?

  • Nick

I was checking out the gava website:
    http://www.communication.go.ke/elections/constituency.asp?ID=102

Made me crack up for Juja.
    George Thuo 52K; Kabogo 32K.
    Registered Voters: 53K
    voter turn out 161%
this just made my day! I pray to God that it is wrong.

  • Adeline

    Ade said,

Juja has 128 000 registered voters and not 53 000 (go to the ECK website) so the 161% must be a mistake. 61% is more like it.

  • Tom

Capital FM will bring the announcements live for those who are interested… http://www.capitalfm.co.ke

  • International coverage has been quite poor. Pakistan has been a major headline. The world loves disasters, I wonder why nobody is watching this Kenya disaster unfold… ECK … where the hell are you taking us?

  • JKE

Elections in Kenya were – at least – headline on Germany’s Tagesschau (www.tagesschau.de), with Raila giving a short statement in German.

I think the ECK spoofing has been a “115%” assault on our intellect and I am really pissed about that.

  • Excellent post. I was checking continuously this blog and I’m impressed! Very helpful info specifically the last part :) I care for such information much. I was seeking this certain info for a long time. Thank you and good luck.
