“The truth is opposite…”

I’m getting increasing media requests to give my opinion on the Kenyan political scene given the upcoming Kenyan elections and Mzalendo.

I’m often tempted to say that there’s no point in trying to make sense of Kenyan politicians/Kenyan politics because it is often a tramedy (tragedy+comedy). I think from now on I should just send […]

Mzalendo featured on BBC Outlook

I was interviewed by BBC Outlook about Mzalendo yesterday, the questions were great and I think the interview came out pretty well (it’s always painful to listen to myself on radio/tv though). Click here to listen, the story is at the very end.

Civil society members arrested for protesting MP bonus

[EDIT] One of KP’s readers has left a comment that I’m inclined to agree with no matter how strongly I feel about the need to vocally challenge our MPs shenanigans, the protesters should have formally alerted the police (Wanyiri Kihoro claims they did though, is this right or wrong?)…two wrongs […]

What gives?

Via the Nation’s Cutting Edge: “The huge pay increase for the President is a mere campaign ploy aimed at next year’s poll, says Moses Maragia. According to him, this is meant to get the public to react to the move, which the President will then reject, as he is being urged to do in some […]

Political idiocy exemplified

I rarely comment on Kenyan politics anymore, because the shenanigans keep reaching new heights of “you-gotta-be shitting-me!”

Once in a while, I’m drawn out of a my self-imposed ban by instances of “you-gotta-be-totally-fucking-shitting-me!”

Today’s violent dispersion of the ODM march is one of them.

I have little regard for the ODM. Maybe […]

The Raila Odinga Blog

I believe this is the first blog explicitly tied to a Kenyan politician. Hope to see more of the same in what is shaping up to be a LOOOONG campaigning period.
